IM Irina Bulmaga wins Queens Rapid Chess Challenge 2024

The Queens Rapid Chess Challenge 2024 took place yesterday in Bucharest, Romania with the participation of 50 players. The event was organized by the CSU ASE sports club, and it was the first among the series of chess tournaments for female chess players as the club continues the tradition of organizing events to promote female excellence in chess.

IM Irina Bulmaga (Romania, 2365 Rapid rating) convincingly won the tournament scoring perfect 7/7 points! She was point and a half ahead of WIM Elitsa Raeva (Bulgaria, 2087 Rapid rating) and WGM Elena-Luminita Cosma (Romania, 2074 Rapid rating) who tied for second with 5.5 points.

The total prize fund of the tournament was 2.600 euros, with 800 euros reserved for the Winner. Detailed information about the tournament are available here / Chess-results.
