IM Anna Zatonskih emerged as the sole winner of the Cairns Chess Cup 2023, an elite level tournament for the top female players from around the world.
Scoring impressive 6/8 points without a single loss, Anna Zatonskih won the tournament and pocketed a money-prize of $45.000. She was a full point ahead of GM Alexandra Kosteniuk who was in clear second place and won the prize of $35.000.

The Cairns Chess Cup 2023 took place from 3-13 June in Saint Louis Chess Club. It was a nine-round classical event, with one of the largest prize funds for women’s tournaments. Due to health issues, GM Humpy Koneru withdrew from the event and her results were removed from the table.
