The 33rd Kings Island Open 2024 took place from 15-17th November at the Embassy Suites Cincinnati Northeast, Blue Ash, Ohio.
The event had seven sections: Major (for players rated over 1900), Under 2100, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500, Under 1250 and Under 1000. The top two sections are FIDE rated.
The tournament format was 5-round Swiss with the time control 40/80, SD/30, d30 (2-day option, rounds 1-2 G/60 d10).
The main Major Section had 57 participants. Grandmasters Zhou Jianchao 2686 and Alexander Fishbein 2491 shared the first place with 4.5/5 points each.
Under 2100 section had 65 participants. Michael Sevastian Santana 1899 IN convincingly won this section with perfect 5/5 points.
Under 1900 section had 46 participants. Aaryn Rudrapati 1869 OH and Logan White 1702 KY shared the first place with 4.5/5 points each.
Under 1700 section attracted 50 players. Ghanishth Prabhakar Awasthi 1656 TN crushed the opposition to finish the event with the perfect score.
Under 1500 section had 51 players. Logan Thomas Priest 1440 IN took a clear first place with 4.5/5 points.

The event had a $25,000 guaranteed prize fund.
