GM Vugar Rasulov convincingly wins Taq-e Bostan Chess Cup 2024

The 2nd edition of the Taq-e Bostan Chess Cup took place from 24 January to 1 February in Kermanshah, Iran. The Open A was played in 9 rounds, swiss accelerated system, with $46.000 in prizes!

GM Vugar Rasulov convincingly won the event with the score of 8/9 points. Rasulov finished the tournament unbeaten, with two draws in the last two rounds, winning the money prize of $12,000. Four players trailed by point and a half to tie for the second place, but with the best tiebreak criteria GM Levon Babujian came second, Amirmohammad Azadi was third, FM Seyed Mehrab Khoshkalam finished the event in fourth place and GM Maksat Atabayev was fifth.
