Montenegro Chess Federation (MCF) in cooperation with European Chess Union (ECU) invite all National Chess Federations members of the European Chess Union to participate in theย European Team Chess Championship 2023ย organized in Budva, Montenegro from 10th November (arrival) to 21st November (departure).
The event will be played in 9 rounds, swiss system, with Open and Womenโs sections separately. The time control will be 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with 30 seconds increment for every move played starting from move one.
Each national federation member of the ECU has the right to enter with one team of four players and one reserve in the Open competition and one team of four female players and one reserve in the Womenโs competition.
The Championships will be held in the Conference Hall of Hotel Splendid. 5***** Hotel Splendid will also be the official hotel of the Championship together with 4**** Hotel Montenegro. The organizers will provide a shuttle bus from Hotel Montenegro to the playing venue every day, every 5 minutes, 40 minutes prior to the game start. The walking distance from Hotel Montenegro to Hotel Splendid is 6 minutes.
Registration will take place from 20th June to 15th September 2023.ย The national federations are kindly requested to fill the registration forms which can be found on the official website of the event.

The first three teams in the Open and Womenโs sections will receive cups, medals, and diplomas. The best-performing players in the Open and Womenโs sections on each board (10 in total) will receive gold medals.
ECU General Assembly 2023:
The ECU General Assembly 2023 and the ECU Congress 2023 will be held from 17-20 November in Budva, during the European Team Chess Championship 2023. Detailed information and invitation to the ECU General Assembly 2023 and the ECU Congress 2023 will be published in due time.
