In an in-depth interview with the famous content creator Sagar Shah, the reigning World Champion Ding Liren talked about the World Chess Championship Match against Gukesh, about team China for the Chess Olympiad, about his challenger Gukesh and much more.

Ding mentioned that the actual playing venue in Singapore is still not decided and that he still hasn’t signed the player’s contract for the match, but that nevertheless he is preparing with his seconds and is playing training games.

He also added that his schedule in the second half of 2024 will be quite busy, with the Sinquefield Cup and Chess Olympiad, but he simply didn’t want to miss the important tournaments.

Ding was surprised that Gukesh D won the Candidates Tournament ahead of the “older generation”, but this marks beginning of a new era.
