As former world champion Vladimir Kramnik never recognized the final score of The Clash of Claims match in Madrid, which he lost to Mexican GM Jose Martรญnez Alcรกntara 11.5-14.5, Ilya Merenzon, CEO of World Chess and organizer of the Armageddon series, offered to hold the final installment of The Clash of Claims in August in London, UK.
Both players agreed, but after the protest from the organizer of the Madrid event, the match name is changed to “Clash of Blames: Kramnik vs Martinez”.
Clash of Blames will take place on 19-21st August in London and on the FIDE Online Arena.
Vladimir Kramnik also challenged Faustino Oro, the “Messi of Chess” and the youngest International Master ever, to a 12-games over-the-board blitz match in London, before or after the match with Jose Martรญnez.
