Christopher Yoo and Aleksei Sarana win Early/Late Titled Tuesday

The latest editions of Titled Tuesday events took place on 30th April on Chess.com.

American star the 17-years old Christopher Yoo emerged clear winner of the Early Titled Tuesday with 10/11 points.

Triple European champion from 2023 Aleksei Sarana won the Late Titled Tuesday with 10/11 points, leaving the second placed GM Jeffery Xiong half a point behind.

Titled Tuesday (TT) is Chess.com’s weekly 11-round Swiss tournament for titled players, occurring twice each Tuesday at 8 a.m. PT and 2 p.m. PT. The time control is 3 min + 1 sec.

The total prize fund for the day is USD 5000, with USD 1000 dedicated to the winner of each event.

The participation was massive, with 681 players in the Early and 549 in the Late event.

In the Early TT Christopher Yoo started strong with 6 consecutive wins before drawing Jan-Krzysztof Duda and later Aleksei Sarana. In the final round he clinched the top place with a win over Jose Martinez.

In the Late TT Aleksei Sarana conceded an early round 6 draw against IM Renato Terry. A pair of wins followed with a draw against 2nd-placed Jeffery Xiong. Last two rounds and victories against Bogdan Daniel Deac and Hrant Melkumyan were decisive to secure Sarana the top prize.
