Following the yesterday’s incident in the Early Titled Tuesday, where Vladimir Kramnik resigned against Jose Martinez on move 2, the former World Champion received a formal warning from Chess.com.
Kramnik posted the letter on his X account.
“Dear Vladimir,
In Round 5 of today’s Early Titled Tuesday (March 12), you resigned against Jose Martinez (Jospem) on move 2. Deliberately resigning a game with the intention of not playing against a specific opponent directly violates both our Competitive Events Policy and Community Policy. Your actions have a ripple effect that compromises the integrity (and standings) of a prize event.
This is an official warning. Future violations may result in suspension from prize events.”
Kramnik also posted his reply to this letter.
