President of the All India Chess Federation, Nitin Narang, has announced the cash rewards for the players on India’s Olympiad gold medal teams to recognise their hard work and dedication.
Each Player will receive โน25 lakh โ $30,000 USD
Each Captain & Coach will receive โน15 lakh โ $18,000 USD
Head of Delegation will receive โน10 lakh โ $12,000 USD
Assistant Coaches will each receive โน7.5 lakh โ $9,000 USD
This brings the total cash rewards to โน3.2 crores, which is approximately $382,000 USD.
The awards were made possible through the generous support of AICF sponsors: Darashaw & Co. Pvt. Limited, MidGulf International, and TIF Foundation.
The Sports Authority of India has awarded โน20 lakh (โ $24,000 USD) to each of the players in the Indian Open and Women’s Team.
Tamil Nadu state government awarded the TN players Gukesh, Praggnanandhaa and Vaishali with $30,000 USD each, and the Captain Srinath with $18,000 USD.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi also congratulated the national chess teams on the “Historic Gold”.
