The Austin Chess Club Winter Open 2024 concluded yesterday at the Austin Southpark Hotel, Texas. The event was played in 4 rating sections: Championship (1800+), Reserve (1400-1799), Novice (900-1399) and Club (U900) with a guaranteed prize fund of $5,000.

After five played rounds, GM Kamil Dragun and GM Vladimir Belous tied for the top of the Championship category, scoring 4.5 points each. Three players scored 4 points to tie for the third place: IM Dante Beukes, Daniel Yang, and Joshua Yang.
