The 56th Annual Atlantic Chess Open 2024 will take place from 23-25th August at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC, USA.
The event has seven sections: Major (for players rated over 1900), Under 2100, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500, Under 1300 and Under 1000. The top two sections are FIDE rated.
The tournament format is 5-round Swiss with the time control 40/80, SD/30, d30 (2-day option, rounds 1-2 G/60 d10).
The event has a $30,000 guaranteed prize fund.
Major section: $3000-1500-800-400-300, clear or tiebreak win $100 bonus, top USCF U2300 $1300-700. FIDE rated.
Under 2100 Section: $2000-1000-500-400-300. FIDE rated.
Under 1900 Section: $2000-1000-500-400-300
Under 1700 Section: $1800-900-500-300-200
Under 1500 Section: $1500-800-400-300-200
Under 1300 Section: $1300-700-400-300-200
Under 1000 Section: $800-400-300-200-100
