Theย American Chess Cup 2024ย kicked off in Saint Louis Chess Club! The event gathers 16 of the Americaโs best chess players, with 8-player fields in each Open and Womenโs section. The event is played with the elimination system this year.
The first round concluded yesterday determining 4 semifinalists in each section. Fabiano Caruana, Levon Aronian, Wesley So and Ray Robson continue the event in the Champions bracket of the Open section, while Irina Krush, N. Paikidze, Alice Lee and Gulrukhbeghim Torkhijonova advanced to Women’s semifinals.
