The 24th edition of the Mediterranean Flower Women’s Chess Tournament concluded today in Rijeka, Croatia. The event was played from 3-9 March as a 10-player round-robin.
The players visited the City Hall of Rijeka, welcomed by the Mayor of the Rijeka city Mr. Marko Filipovic and the Deputy President of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Mr. Petar Mamula.
The top-seeded WIM Zala Urh (Slovenia, 2287) emerged convincing Winner of the event, scoring 6.5 points. Despite losing to her compatriot WFM Barbara Skuhala (Slovenia, 2188) in the first round, Zala Urh bounced back and placed herself one point ahead of Barbara Skuhala who finished second with 5.5 points. WFM Anastasiia Hnatyshyn (Ukraine, 2178) and WFM Tihana Ivekovic (Croatia, 2081) tied for third place with 5 the score of points. Final rankings can be found below
