The 2023 National Youth Chess Championships of France (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, and U20 open and girls sections separately) are simultaneously taking place in Agen, France, from 23-30 April. The event gathered 1700 children under one roof – Agen Convention Center and Exhibition Center which serves as the playing venue of the impressive tournament.
1700 players are competing for the National Champion title and qualification spots for the European and World Youth Chess Championships. French representative GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave visited the Championships and met with the participants who had a chance to take photos with their chess idol and asked him for a signature.
