Boca Raton Chess Club is organizing the 22nd Annual Turkey Bowl chess tournament from 15-17th November. The event will take place at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, Boca Raton, Florida.
The event has five sections: Premier, Under 2050, Under 1800, Under 1400, Under 1150. The top two sections are FIDE rated.
The tournament format is 5-round Swiss with the time control 90 min + 30 sec.
The event has a $11,500 prize fund based on 180 paid entries in cash prize sections.
Premier: 1st place – $1,100 & turkey bowl, 2nd place – $700, 3rd place – $600, 1st under 2300 – $500, 2nd under 2300 – $400.
Under 2050: 1st place – $1,000 & trophy, 2nd – $600, 3rd – $500, 1st under 1900 – $300, 2nd – $200
Under 1800: 1st place – $1,000 & trophy, 2nd – $600, 3rd – $500, 1st under 1650 – $300, 2nd – $200
Under 1400: 1st place – $1,000 & trophy, 2nd – $600, 3rd – $500, 1st under 1250/unr. – $300, 2nd – $200
Under 1150: trophies for 1st to 3rd places, 1st u900, 1st u700/unr., medals to all others
Top rated players are GM Julio Becerra 2427 and CM Marvin Gao 2144.
