The 2024 Maritime Chess Festival is scheduled to take place from 11-14th October at the Credit Union Place in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
The Festival consists of:
- Maritime Open Chess Championship from Sat, Oct 12 – Mon Oct 14
- Maritime Rapid Chess Championship on Fri, Oct 11
- Maritime Amateur Chess Championship on Sat, Oct 12
- Maritime Junior Chess Championship on Sun, Oct 13
- Maritime Blitz Championship on Sun, Oct 13
The main event is 2024 Maritime Open Chess Championship, which consists of two sections:
- Championship Section, Open to all, FIDE and CFC Rated
- Challengers Section, Open to players with a CFC Rating Under 2000, CFC Rated only
Both sections will be 6 Round Swisses with the classical time control 90 min + 30 sec.
Schedule : Sat 11:30am & 4:30pm; Sun 10am & 3pm; Mon 10am & 3pm (Championship) / 2:30pm (Challengers)
Prize Fund in the Championship Section is $1,820. Prize Fund in the Challengers Section is $980.
All players must be (or become) a member of the CFC or pay a CFC Tournament Fee.
